Hajiji and GRS Should Be Ashamed for Celebrating Another KL Deception on Sabah's Right

Hajiji heaping praises and kudos on Anwar for allegedly "not appealing" a high court ruling affirming Sabah's right on 40% to various taxes collected by the Federal Government from Sabah. Picture of Anwar and Hajiji taken yesterday in Kota Kinabalu. The Federal failed to uphold this right since the inception of Malaysia in 1963, and instead "replaced" it with token RM26 milion yearly and only last year upped it to RM600 million which is far below what could be billions annualy for Sabahans.

KOTA KINABALU : The Borneo’s Plight in Malaysia Foundation (BoPiMaFo) today urged Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor to stop celebrating the Federal Government’s “no appeal” announcement, which has now been exposed as a half-truth carefully designed to mislead Sabahans.

While Hajiji rushed to praise the so-called “commitment” of the Prime Minister and the Federal Cabinet, the Attorney General’s latest statement makes it crystal clear that Putrajaya is, in fact, appealing through the back door — by challenging what it calls “defects in the grounds of judgment.”

BoPiMaFo reminds Hajiji that an appeal is an appeal, no matter how it is disguised.

Once filed, it suspends the effect of the Kota Kinabalu High Court ruling and delays the implementation of Sabah’s 40% constitutional entitlement.

By endorsing Putrajaya’s line, Hajiji is effectively helping the Federal Government undermine Sabah’s victory in court.

“Negotiation” Is Not Compliance

The Chief Minister’s statement that “negotiations will begin immediately” also rings hollow when the Federal Government is simultaneously attacking the very judgment that confirmed Sabah’s right.
BoPiMaFo stresses that there can be no meaningful negotiation while the court’s ruling remains disputed.

This is not progress — it is a calculated delay dressed up as cooperation.

If Hajiji truly represents the people of Sabah, he should be defending the High Court decision, not diluting it through political niceties.
The time for “gratitude” is over; the time for assertion and enforcement has come.

A Call for Leadership, Not Submission

BoPiMaFo calls on Hajiji to act as a true Sabahan leader — not as a messenger for Putrajaya.
The 40% entitlement is not a favour from Kuala Lumpur; it is a constitutional right, affirmed by the judiciary, born out of the Malaysia Agreement 1963.

Any attempt to reopen it for “negotiation” is an insult to the law, to Sabah’s dignity, and to the principle of equal partnership within Malaysia.

BoPiMaFo’s message is simple:
Stop the deception. Stop the appeasement. Stop betraying the judgment that Sabahans fought for and won.

Sabah’s rights cannot be negotiated, delayed, or redefined — not by Putrajaya, and certainly not by those who claim to lead us.
