What did Shafie say lately on his party Warisan...

Many analysts observe that Warisan President, Datuk Shafie Apdal, an economist, is the best man to helm and redeem Sabah which has been much weakened by a prolong endemic corruption and weak governance.

KOTA KINABALU : What Datuk Shafie Apdal (Warisan President) said lately on his party Warisan working together with ordinary Sabahans instead of forming a coalition of parties, strike me.

These are Shafie's own words that to me highlighted his deep understanding of Sabah's politics, and thus very attractive for Sabahans to ponder upon :

"We prioritise direct engagement with the rakyat jelata over forming alliances with other political parties. Warisan working solo would allow us better address public needs and craft policies solely for the people's benefit."

"If Warisan merges with other parties, many policies and plans would depend on what works for those parties. I do not want to resolve these parties' issues. I want to solve the problems of the people."

"Look what happened. We were with Pakatan Harapan, but today they merged with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). It is paramount that Warisan forges a coalition, direct with the voters, we listen to them directly..."

"If Berjaya and PBS governments could rule tor 10 years each alone, it means the people make the rules, not party mergers."

On GRS begging voters to extend GRS+PH tenure as state government for another five years, Shafie said : '"We have experienced GRS governance (look at the condition of our water, electricity, roads etc while corruption rising)Allowing them more terms will only worsen the people's problems".😉

Sabah being governed by a single multiracial Sabah party like when under Berjaya and PBS is quite attractive, isn't it?

With a surging support from the Chinese, muslim and non-muslim Bumiputeras combined, Warisan looks poised to make a very strong showing at the upcoming state election which is due anytime now.#~Borneo Herald™
