This fruit can end your life! This is not an April Fool Joke. But a stern reminder to all my readers. We were advised to have a few servings of fruits a day in order to reap the benefits of fruits, right? But obviously this is one big no-no fruit to be excluded from your fruity feast!

Dr Devi Prasad Shetty is a reknown cardiac surgeon and philanthropist. After he trained in cardiac surgery in UK, he returned to India to work and subsequently started the Manipal Heart Foundation in Bangalore. In 2001, he founded Narayana Hrudayalaya, one of the largest paediatric heart hospitals in the world. He has performed over 15,000 heart operations.

Q: What are the basic rules to care for one's heart?

Most Islamic countries in the world are non-Muslim

What makes a good Islamic country? Is it one where the people dress conservatively (or even severely in the case of women), adhere strictly to the rituals of Islam, where shariah laws apply?

Or is a good Islamic country one that keeps to the substantive teachings of Islam, more concerned with the content rather than the form of the religion? Where fairness, justice, honesty are the cornerstones of government policies and of its citizens' daily dealings.

DAP meet: Leadership spat buries national issues

The Penang DAP convention yesterday barely discussed any issue of state or national interest, for it was overshadowed by arguments over the spat among the party's top leaders.
