Menara Kinabalu RM600 juta belum siap sampai sekarang?

Jayden Lisando, 22-5-2023

A reader's comment:
"The word “Allah” is a generic word in Arabic and also used by various groups of people in Middle East that predates Islam with various versions. This term is commonly used by those who believe that there’s only ONE GOD. The subject was a non-issue before in Malaysia and especially in Borneo. It was because people well understood what it meant and respected each other’s faith and culture / tradition. Back then I have known none of my Moslem friends and relatives becoming Christians… and still now… only in the last one decade or so this term suddenly becoming a sensitive one for reason known to those who “against” the usage by non-Moslems.. We could live in harmony before by respecting each other’s faith without restriction on who could use what term for his / her god… why cannot we do that now. Are we admitting that our country is no longer the Malaysia which our forefathers envisioned for? If that is the truth, what shall be the way forward for Malaysia?"

Pembalakan 1,000 hektar bakal tambah kronik masalah bekalan air Ranau, kata aktivis

                            Jalibin Paidi

LIONEL GURING, 18-5-2023

Word Allah: PM Anwar should not confuse people

Joint press statement by several activists DANIEL JOHN JAMBUN, KANUL GINDOL, JOVILIS MAJAMI, CLEFTUS S. MOJINGOL & RICKY GANANG
18-5-2023

Kota Kinabalu : Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's statement that only Sarawak is allowed to use Allah lacks substance, created more confusion and seen distancing himself from upholding and respecting the rule of law.

He ought to be reminded that there is no such thing as monopoly of truth.

No gov't or court can tell a person what he or she should or should not call God.

God has no religion, Federal Court implied Allah Muslim, cannot be Christian . . .

God -- subtle force which permeates everything as reality, reality defined as no beginning, no end, always was, always will be -- and Word of God are synonymous!

God isn't person, individual, ego, I.

Word of God remains about eternal laws based on eternal Truth.

Karma -- the law of cause and effect -- is the 1st eternal law based on eternal Truth.

The court has no jurisdiction on God. It can't get into theology.

The court of law is only about law.

In jurisprudence, God isn't source in law.

Law must have source for jurisdiction, authority and power.

In the case of customary practices and customary and industry practices, i.e. force of law, the court of law has jurisdiction.

The Jill Ireland Ruling, based on the 1986 Consensus in Cabinet on Allah, came about after the Home Ministry disregarded the court's advice that the issue be settled out of court, and stated that the Ruling in the Herald case stands.

In law, Article 8, there can be no discrimination save perhaps as provided by law as evident in Article 153, the New Economic Policy (NEP), quota system and Licence Raj from socialist India.

In fact, there's some confusion on the Herald Ruling i.e. whether it was based on public order and security or the principle in law cited from the Ananda Marg case in India. It was used as Advisory Opinion since there was lacuna (gap) in local law.

In the Ananda Marg case, the Supreme Court of India said that it was not integral in the practice for devotees to dance in the streets of Calcutta. The court did not say the devotees could not dance away from the streets.

In the Herald case, the Federal Court implied that Allah was Muslim God and that it wasn't integral in the Christian faith to use Allah for the Christian God.

Christians in Borneo, like Christian Arab, have been using Allah for hundreds of years (Borneo) and thousands of years (Arab).

Sikh use Allah.

The Herald case was actually about the use of Allah in Malay print, presumably for the Christian God implied by the Federal Court.#

Belgian minister says many Muslims 'danced' after attacks

Brussels (AFP) - Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon said Saturday that a "significant" part of the Muslim population celebrated attacks, blaming the country's policies for failing to integrate migrants into society.

He did not explicitly refer to last month's jihadist attacks on Brussels' airport and metro system that killed 32 people

"A significant section of the Muslim community danced when attacks took place," Jambon said in an interview with the Flemish-language De Standaard newspaper.

After Dr Wan Azizah’s rejection, some pundits say end is nigh for Save Malaysia group

KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 — Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s formal refusal to join the Save Malaysia coalition has dealt a blow to the non-partisan movement seeking a leadership change in Putrajaya, some political observers said.

Despite its frontman and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s clout, the pundits believe the Save Malaysia campaign is unlikely to gain further support from regular Malaysians due to the conflicting stands adopted by its prominent members comprising activists and politicians from both sides of the divide.

Church body slams justification of anti-Christian seminar

PETALING JAYA: What has Christianity got to do with the Islamic State (IS) militant group?

That is the question the Council of Churches Malaysia (CCM) has put forward to Higher Education Minister Idris Jusoh, the Malay Mail Online (MMO) reported today.

This was in response to Idris earlier this week, justifying an anti-Christian seminar at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) last year as being held to explain the threat of among others, the IS.

Raja Petra: How could BNM miss RM2.6b?

PETALING JAYA, April 7 — Raja Petra Kamaruddin has asked why Bank Negara did not take action against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak three years ago when the RM2.6 billion was first transferred into his personal bank account.

He said Bank Negara must have known about the transfer as even a small amount like RM100,000 brought into the country would not have gone unnoticed or undetected.

“Did the prime minister smuggle the money in hard cash in containers and not declare the amount to Bank Negara? Or was the money openly transferred through regular or normal channels into Najib’s account?” he asked in a post on his blog, The Corridors Of Power.

“If it is the latter, then did Bank Negara not know about it? We are talking about RM2.6 billion. It happened three years ago and why did Bank Negara not block it or take action three years ago?

“Is it because Bank Negara was informed about it and was in the know and actually approved it three years ago? And if so, then why today pretend they were not aware and are blur and do not know what is going on?”

The blog was hacked on Tuesday after a post on his questions was uploaded but it was up and running after about an hour when Raja Petra changed its server through another country.

“I suspect that was the article that had the anti-Najib people going after me by hacking my server so that readers cannot read it,” he said.

Pope Francis delivers powerful message on Easter

Slamming extremism, indifferent Europe and paedophile priests.

Rome (AFP) - Pope Francis decried what he called Europe's "indifferent and anaesthetised conscience" over migrants, during Good Friday prayers in Rome during which he also slammed paedophile priests, arms dealers and fundamentalists.

Tens of thousands of Catholic faithful gathered for the service, many clutching candles in the imposing surrounds of the city's famous Colosseum, where thousands of Christians are believed to have been killed in Roman times.

Blasphemy cases rise in Egypt and Christians bear the brunt

In this Thursday, March 3, 2016 photo, Fadya Shehata Moussa, the mother mother of 17-year-old Bassem Amgad Hanna, one of four teens convicted for contempt of Islam, wipes away tears during an interview in Bani Mazar, Minya province, Egypt. The four teens and their supervisor, who was forced to leave the village with his family, were all convicted. Though all the defendants are under 18, three were sentenced to adult prison for five years and one to a juvenile detention facility for three years. The supervisor received a three year prison sentence. (AP Photo/Thomas Hartwell)
NASSARIYA, Egypt (AP) — In the video, the Egyptian Christian teens laugh playfully as a couple of them kneel down, imitating Muslim prayers, then another slides his hand under one boy’s neck, imitating the trademark beheadings of the Islamic State group.

The boys were playing around, satirizing the extremist group, and their school supervisor just happened to be videoing them, their defenders say. The result has been catastrophic: they were sentenced to prison under Egypt’s blasphemy laws — they were mocking Muslim prayers, prosecutors said — and have fled into hiding, leaving behind shattered families.

Salleh: Mahathir wants revenge, not out to save Malaysia

PETALING JAYA: Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has no intentions of saving Malaysia and only wants to feed his political agenda in his current campaign against Prime Minister and Umno President Najib Razak, says Sabah Umno leader Salleh Said Keruak.

Salleh, in a blog article today, said that Mahathir’s method, conspiring with his former enemies to overthrow the democratically elected government, showed that the intention was not to save Malaysia, but to destroy it.

Hypocrite in disguise
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 7— At 85 years of age, Tunku Abdul Rahman, who presided 31 years ago over the founding of independent Malaysia and later called himself "the happiest Prime Minister in the world," pronounced himself a disappointed man today.

"Disappointed is not the word," he continued. "Disgusted?" he said questioningly, as though seeking his interviewer's approval for the harsh word.

Veteran Fredoline Lojingki on Zahid

By Fredoline Edwin Lojingki

The Deputy Prime Minister, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Home Minister, had recently made couples of revelations on security issues affecting our country especially here in Sabah.

Zahid had said that the police has gleaned information that the dreaded Philippines Sulu sultanate has appointed his representatives or cell leader in every constituencies in Sabah, and that this is a threat to our security.

Now, two things came into my mind as a veteran politician or watch (i am 75 years old now).

Lets Avert a Complete Rout of the Opposition in PRU 14

A few days ago, at a PSM Press Conference I opined that the Opposition should not take the peoples’ continued support for granted. I predicted that the BN will not only hold on to Putrajaya, but might also regain its 2/3 majority in the Dewan Rakyat. My reasons for fearing this include
-          The break-up of PAS and the real possibility of 3 corner contests in seats contested by Amanah.
-          The rushed decision to form Gerakan Harapan Baru. PKR has chosen Amanah over PAS  and this may lead to a diminution of PAS support for PKR in PRU14. This could prove costly to the PKR in seats with more than 30% Malay voters.

SAVING MALAYSIA?

Once again in Malaysia we have witnessed the announcement of that trite cliché:  “there are no permanent enemies in politics”. History has shown us that this is typically spouted by desperadoes and drama kings when opportunism raises its ugly head. The latest round in the Anti-Najib campaign has seen the unspeakable spectacle of former Mahafiraun being made the head of the “Save Malaysia” campaign.

The audacity of naivete
To even think that this declaration of intent by this strange collection of bedfellows can depose the evil regime is an exhibition of the utmost naivete and an exercise in futility. Do they really believe the structures set up by Mahathir to make the incumbents in UMNO impregnable will just give way, especially when the UMNO division chiefs are even more well-fed than before?

Lines finally drawn in fight for Malaysia

It took Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to force the issue for all Malaysians. He drew a line in the sand today, asking friends and foes to make up their minds once and for all.

Get on his side to "Save Malaysia" from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's government or be the enemy and part of the Najib Party – the ones defending the status quo as much as Dr Mahathir did when sacking Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim 18 years ago.

Umno Coming to Sabah -The Other Side of the Same Coin

Kota Kinabalu: “Umno’s entry into Sabah allegedly to provide political stability and so-called development of Sabah is only one side of the story from Umno and like a coin, there is always the other side, a more sinister side, the impact of which we are experiencing today” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief cum Bingkor Assemblyman, in responding to CM Musa who is Umno’s Sabah Chief.

Sumpah” Must Be Respected and Honoured

Kota Kinabalu:     “An oath, once taken, must be honoured to maintain peace, social order and body-mind-spirit equilibrium” said Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, when told that the Batu Sumpah is set to become a National Heritage with the reinstatement of the key words "Kerajaan Malaysia Jamin" on it as announced by the federal Tourism Ministry.

A Country Crying for Change

Jambun: Sulu claim political fiction, Manila ploy

Bopim president says Mackasie Declaration of 1939 makes it clear that Manila never had territorial rights over Sabah.
KOTA KINABALU: A human rights advocate has warned that the Manila Government and the defunct Sulu Sultanate – declared defunct by the Madrid Protocol of 1885 – are misleading the people in the southern Philippines by resurrecting the fiction now and then that the sovereignty of Sabah does not rest with its people.
