Saying 20 Points, Malaysian Agreement as outdated is great humiliation to Sabahans, says ex-PASOK President

SANDAKAN: Former PASOK President, Cleftus Mojingol, who had just joined SAPP, said allegations that the 20 Points, Borneonisation and the Malaysia Agreement as outdated issues, are irresponsible and a great humiliation to the state and its people.

"A true Sabahan will regard these instruments of founding Malaysia as sacrosanct facts of history and will never say such degrading words against them.

"Malaysians and more so Sabahans must always protect and assert their rightful place in the Federation citing the 20 Points and the Malaysia Agreement among others..." he said commenting on the issues being brought up by SAPP and the ruling BN during their campaigning for the Batu Sapi by-election.

Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman and SAPP President Yong Teck Lee, have been involved in a public argument over the issues when Musa brushed aside as outdated the SAPP's cry of "Sabah for Sabahans" and "Autonomy for Sabah".

Cleftus who had cited SAPP's resolute stand to establish an autonomous state government as the reason for him to join the party, said without the Malaysia Agreement and the 20 Points, the world would have never heard of a Malaysia Federation incorporating Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore as equal partners in the Federation.

"It is our duty to guard our historical strengths and to assert our rights. Never should we back out from asserting our rightful position as provided in the founding of this nation.

"You can never amend the original foundations of a country without destroying it..." he further said.
