Protect Natives Rights, Stop Eviction and Destruction of Ulu Sugut Villages

Kota Kinabalu: “The Sabah government should protect native rights to native customary lands and stop the eviction and destruction of the village lands, plants and crops in the 3 villages of Kg. Malinsau, Kg. Wayan and Kg. Sinurai in Ulu Sugut, Ranau” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief voicing out his concerns on the reported destruction of the village lands and crops by the purported registered landowner with more than 100 alleged foreigners which started on Thursday.

Syarikat Malaya rampas tanah adat Ulu Sugut

Kami buntu kerana apabila kami hubungi wakil rakyat tiada respon. Mungkin pagi esok beberapa ekar getah akan siap diradu.

Sabah Lost More Than It Gained from Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu: “It is incredible and almost unbelievable reading the reasons and excuses given by federalist leaders from Sabah and federal leaders across the South China Sea. It is as though Sabah has never had it so good or any better if not for forming Malaysia there would be no progress and no development” asked Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, commenting on the various statements as though Sabah will be without development, be bankrupt or eaten up by its neighbours or infiltrated with Islamic State (IS) militants bent on taking over Sabah and creating an Islamic caliphate and moving back to the dark ages.

D.O. Should Not Play Politics With Excuses

Kota Kinabalu: “It is a sad day for the civil service when the District Officer tried to play politics to justify his refusal to open up the Batu Sumpah monument on Malaysia with excuses and lies. It may be better that he ask to be transferred out of Keningau to protect the good name of the Sabah civil service” said Dr. Jeffrey in response to the so-called explanation of the District Officer that STAR Sabah applied to hold the Malaysia Day commemoration service.

“If the District Officer wish to recall, I applied for permission as the State Assemblyman for Bingkor and the request was not made under STAR Sabah party as alleged by the D.O.” stressed Dr. Jeffrey.

Validity of Sedition Act is at stake, says Paulsen

gerak hapus akta hasutan 0509 840 630 100Executive Director of Lawyers for Liberty, Eric Paulsen, says that the Sedition Act 1948 was merely adopted by the then Malaya and did not pass through an existing Parliament.
As such, its validity, in a modern democracy, is questionable.
Paulsen told the Rakyat Times that prior to independence, the Sedition Ordinance was enacted in 1948 and that piece of legislation was gazetted as law.
He explained that under Article (10) (2) clearly stated that only Parliament may by law impose the restrictions on the freedom of speech.

Sabah Umno BN Leaders Need to Stand up for Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: “Sabah Umno BN leaders need to come out of their cocoons and hiding places and put the facts correct to the federal government that Sabah and Sarawak (with Singapore then) formed Malaysia on 16 September, 1963. There should be no dispute and no ambiguity to this historical fact.” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR Sabah in supporting the call by a senior Sarawak BN leader cum Minister that those who distort history should be charged with sedition.

Time to Re-build ‘Batu Sumpah’ as National Monument

Kota Kinabalu: “The “BATU SUMPAH” or Oath Stone should be relocated and rebuilt as a National Monument as it is the only constitutional document in the whole of Malaysia erected specifically for the purpose instead of being relegated as a landscaping stone in front of the District Office” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, the Assemblyman for Bingkor where the Oath Stone is located.

“Every Malaysian and even tourists can visit this historical monument. It can be the pride of the whole nation”, he said.

Sabah Sarawak Clearly Cheated If What Najib Says is True

Kota Kinabalu: “The truth behind the takeover of Sabah and Sarawak by Malaya appears to be revealed, intentionally or unintentionally, by the comparison of Sabah and Sarawak “joining” Malaysia similarly to the States of Wisconsin and Hawaii joining the original 13 States of the U.S.A. as disclosed by PM Najib on Malaysia Day in Miri” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, commenting Najib’s statement that the newer States other than the founding 13 States in U.S.A. celebrate 4th of July as their Independence Day despite joining later and that Sabah and Sarawak should accept 31 August 1957 as the Independence Day of Malaysia.

Removal of Key Words Show Government Can't be Trusted

Photo credit to 1 Suara Sabah Facebook page
Kota Kinabalu: “The removal of the key words “Kerajaan Malaysia Jamin” meaning “The Malaysian Government Guarantees” from the “Batu Sumpah” Oath Stone in Keningau shows that the Malaysian government cannot be trusted because they can change anything they want including the history of Malaysia and the rights of Sabah and Sarawak” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief.

What is the meaning and intention for the removal of the key words in the “Batu Sumpah”?

By removing the key words, the government of Malaysia can now say that they do not guarantee that religious freedom; forest and that natural resources belongs to Sabah and the safeguarding of native customs, adat and traditions. It reflects the insincere and bad intention of the government.

Why Are Federal and Sabah Govts Preventing Malaysia Day Commemoration at Batu Sumpah?

Kota Kinabalu: “Why are the federal and Sabah governments preventing Malaysia Day commemoration at the Batu Sumpah on Malaysia Day?   It is disappointing to see the police personnel turning out in full force with their Black Marias reading to stop and arrest the people from performing their commemoration rituals at the Batu Sumpah” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, who with a large crowd of hundreds who were prevented from entering the Batu Sumpah compound on Malaysia Day.

No More Empty Talk, Restore Equal Partnership to Save Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu:     “Malayan leaders, both from the BN government and the Pakatan opposition, should climb down from their high horses and stop the empty and hollow words to sweet talk Sabahans and Sarawakians on the future of Malaysia.  The time has come for all parties particularly the federal government to rectify past mistakes on the formation of Malaysia and save Malaysia before it is too late from saving it from breaking up” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, in his speech at Batu Sumpah, Keningau, on Malaysia Day, where the ceremony was being prevented from being performed by the police authorities.

Free Sabah from Malaya’s Domination and Occupation

Kota Kinabalu:    “The formation of Malaysia as a partnership through the merger of 4 sovereign entities is meaningless if Sabah continues to be occupied and dominated by the over-presence of Malayan government officers and federal government agencies” said Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of BHF in his Malaysia Day message at the Batu Sumpah, Keningau.

Mengapa UK tidak penjarakan pemisah Scotland?

Wong Chin Huat, Malaysia Insider

Mahathir thinks Malays are a dishonest bunch !

PETALING JAYA: In a no holds barred message at a book launch, former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said he found it hard to trust Malays because they lacked a sense of honesty and integrity.

Mahathir said, “Malays think nothing of taking money that is not theirs. I have seen it with my own eyes. They also struggle to manage their finances well or with any degree of honesty.”

He added, ”If you take something that does not belong to you, what you are doing in essence, is stealing.”

Scots and Sabahans, share similar fate, and yet so different...

By Angus MacSwan

EDINBURGH (Reuters) - British Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday begged Scots not to rip apart the United Kingdom's "family of nations", flying to Scotland to man the barricades against a surge in support for independence eight days before a referendum.

Cameron appealed to Scots to use their heads and their hearts when they voted on Sept. 18. He reminded them of their shared history and bonds with England, Wales and Northern Ireland - twice evoking World War Two and the fight against Hitler.

Sabah Bukan Milik Malaysia

Jeffrey Appeals to CM Musa to Open Up Batu Sumpah on Malaysia Day

Kota Kinabalu: “Batu Sumpah belongs to the rakyat specifically created in the Interior as a commitment of loyalty to Malaysia in terturn for the assurance that the Federal Government will honour religious freedom  (no official religion), land, forest and natural resources belongs to Sabah and the native customs, adat and traditions will be safeguarded.

“The Batu Sumpah does not belong to the government and therefor the government have no right to prevent anybody to visit and pay respect to the Monument” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, who was unhappy that the District Office has denied their request to visit the Batu Sumpah on Malaysia Day.

Scotland poise to vote for independence of UK !

Jeffrey Welcomes Meeting with Putrajaya To Address Issues Behind Secession Calls

Kota Kinabalu: “The best and the only way to deal with the incessant calls for secession or separation is to take the bull by the horns and address them” said Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, in welcoming a statement by the Deputy Home Minister for Putrajaya to meet the "separatists". Jeffrey's name was singled out in the Deputy Home Minister's statement.

It is time for the Federal Government to address the unhappiness behind the calls for secession/separation/Sabah Sarawak rights... the issues are all the same but the calls become louder and more intense the longer these frustrations are ignored overtime explained Jeffrey who was detained under the ISA in 1990's for raising the rights of Sabah under the 20- Points pre-conditions for Malaysia.

Statement in respond to Mositun's call for ISA

By Fredoline Edwin Lojingki
PENAMPANG : PBS call for the reintroduction of draconian law Internal Security Act (ISA) while the same abusive Umno is still in power is shocking, and is in total disregard to Prime Minister's Naib Razak and Parliament's findings that ISA was out-dated.

PBS secretary-general Johnny Mositun must be out of his mind calling for ISA to be reintroduced in Malaysia, or it could be that Mositun is under the spell of Dr Mahathir Mohamad and other Malay ultras who had been calling for ISA to be reintroduced.

Be Serious in Solving Problems - Stop Cheating the People

I wish to respond to the press report made by Datuk Salleh Said Keruak, (Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly) captioned “Call to act on secession talk”
·         Leaders should listen more and understand the voices of dissension and unhappiness ( and not jump to conclusions)

·         I am surprised that Salleh as a Sabahan leader do not care about the concerns of Sabahans and the injustices suffered by Sabahans as a result of the way Malaysia has turned out to be:-
v  Downgraded to 12th State and taken over by Malaya
v  Our resources, our revenues taken over by Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya in the name of “Federalism”

1962 Brunei rebellion, a British instigation

This was disclosed by Lina Soo, the President of Sarawak Association of People’s Aspiration (SAPA), in a statement issued in Kuching after her return.

Monitor those who call to secede

salleh keruak
KOTA KINABALUSabah State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said yesterday called on the relevant authorities to monitor the activity of certain individuals and groups who are using social media platforms to incite people to separate Sabah from Malaysia.

Salleh, who is also Usukan assemblyman, said such an extreme ideology spread by those quarters via Facebook and Twitter should be monitored and controlled as it was dangerous and could shake the country’s stability and safety.

Why cant we do the same?

The two pictures brought a powerful message to humankind. Yet at the same time they serve to remind us that Malaysia is a very different country, ever diminishing in tolerance to other religions other than Islam. - Editor

The group, which calls itself the Islamic State, has been on a rampage, killing members of various minorities, including Yazidis.

Pope says the violence in Iraq offends God and humanity

ROME (Reuters) - Pope Francis said that violence and destruction in Iraq offends God and humanity and he held a silent prayer for victims of the conflict during his weekly address in Rome on Sunday.

"We are left incredulous and dismayed by the news coming from Iraq," the Argentine-born pontiff said, two days after the United States began air strikes to tackle an insurgency that threatens to tear the country apart.

"Thousands of people, among them many Christians, banished brutally from their houses, children dying of hunger and thirst as they flee, women kidnapped, people massacred, violence of all kinds, destruction everywhere ... All of this deeply offends God and deeply offends humanity."

Iraqis shelter in unfinished buildings

(CNN) -- If you're following the news about ISIS, which now calls itself the Islamic State, you might think you've mistakenly clicked on a historical story about barbarians from millennia ago.

In a matter of months, the group seized territory in both Iraq and Syria and declared an Islamic caliphate, celebrating its own shocking slaughter along the way.

SARAWAKIANS INCREASINGLY OPEN TO SECEDING

sarawaksabah
KUCHING: A straw poll of 100 individuals revealed that 72% of Sarawak folk felt that leaving the federation was the best option, with only 14% in Sabah agreeing.

The straw poll also revealed that 43% of them believed that the best way for Sabah and Sarawak to solve their problems was to leave Malaysia and go at it alone.

Secession is considered treason under Malaysian law.
The poll indicated that deep feelings of mistrust and disenchantment still exist between the peninsula Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak half a century after the federation was formed on September 16, 1963.

In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Netanyahu accused Hamas of a cynical disregard for human life.

Malaysian politics used to be very much about race. That was bad. But now it has gotten even worse. Now Malaysian politics is about religion. And if you think racial politics is bad you have seen nothing yet. Religious politics is many more times worse and history can testify to this.

Sabah Should Formalize Setting Up Homeland Security - Dr. Jeffrey

Kota Kinabalu: “The Sabah and Federal governments should consider setting up a full-fledged Sabah Homeland Security Ministry as a long term security mechanism instead of relying on an ad-hoc piecemeal arrangement reacting only to  events such as kidnappings and foreign intrusion as and when they occur” said Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of Star Sabah, who is also the assemblyman for Bingkor.

Allah Is For All A Sabah Perspective

I. Introduction

Religion has never been an issue in Sabah until recently. So, is the word “Allah” for God. It is not an issue.

Religion is between God and the individual. It is a personal thing; a personal choice. Many families in Sabah have family members professing different religion and religious belief; even in my family, we have Christians, Muslims and Buddhists. There is no problem because we respect each other's beliefs.

I AM for the destruction of Pesaka, the gathering of the 3rd Force in Parliament through the 57 seats from Borneo and the decolonization of Borneo in that order. Jeffrey vs Musa at the State Assembly, May 15, 2014

KOTA KINABALU: It was a rather rough day for opposition assemblyman Jeffrey Kitingan at the State Legislative Assembly sitting here yesterday as he had to fight just to be heard through the raucous interruptions from government lawmakers.

The State Reform Party (Star) Sabah chief had barely started his speech, asking where the wealth of Sabah from the oil revenue had gone when Sekong Assemblyman Samsuddin Yahya interrupted him to seek an explanation from him.

A prominent Bloomberg columnist wrote yesterday that the global outcry over the loss of flight MH370 has highlighted Putrajaya’s deepest flaws, and all-too-few of its strengths.
William Pesek, in his opinion piece titled "Missing plane will haunt Malaysia's future", said that while six months ago US president Barak Obama had hailed Malaysia as “an example of dynamic economy” and touted its multiculturalism as a model to others, such praise sounds naïve in light of events following the tragic incident.

Motions Submitted For Dun Sabah Session 14-17 April 2014

1.             INTRODUCTION
As many are aware, the hot topics on Sabah and Sarawak currently are related to the Review of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the issue of “Oil Royalties”.   What used to be topics raised mainly by the opposition, they have now become mainstream with Sabah BN leaders jumping on the bandwagon seemingly changing their tune that the Malaysia Agreement/20-Points are not relevant to that of championing for the rights of Sabah with regards to the Malaysia Agreement and the 20-Points together with the so-called “oil royalties”.

Don’t Just Ask for Royalty But Seek to Restore Rights–Dr. Jeffrey

Kota Kinabalu:    “The Sabah Government should take official steps to restore its oil rights rather than begging the Federal Government to increase the 5% so called “royalty” payment”, said Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Sabah STAR Chief, when commenting on the “Oil Royalty” issue raised by BN component Youth Chiefs recently.
