PKR Sepanggar reply to Felix Sitaun statement

By Thimothy Thomas Lim
We refer to Mr. Felix Sitaun’s announcement to quit PKR to join STAR reported on 5th March 2012.

PKR Sepanggar wishes to set the record straight here.

It is true that Felix Sitaun was elected as the divisional head of PKR Sepanggar in September 2010. However, he had maintained, at all times, that he was a proxy to Daniel John Jambun whose membership was suspended by PKR due to his affiliations with Party Cinta Sabah. Using the excuse that he is a proxy, Felix has been inactive and ineffective. By early 2011, he asked to be on ‘sick leave’ and thereby relinquished all his positions in the party.

“PBS has lost its Direction and PBS leaders have forgotten the people”

By John Ho, PBS pioneer 1985
Mr. John Ho
Ex-Branch Chairman
Parti Bersatu Sabah
“Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has forgotten its struggle for Sabah and its leaders have forgotten the people. For the future of Sabah, we have decided to leave PBS and join STAR Sabah to answer the calls for unity by Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan and support the struggles of STAR Sabah and fight for the rights and autonomy of Sabah” announced John Ho, a pioneer of PBS, at the launching of the KOKAKOBA fellowship last Sunday, 4th March, in Kapayan, Penampang.

“Tan Sri Pairin and others were in my house on February 21, 1985 and we initiated PBS in Kapayan before PBS was officially registered. We went on to arrange for the first announcement of PBS’ registration on 06 March 1985 at a friend’s house in Tg. Aru in the presence of about 200 initial core supporters after his arrival from Kuala Lumpur that afternoon.”

PKR Head in Sepanggar quits to join STAR

By Felix Sitaun, PKR Head, Sepanggar
KOTA KINABALU : I was elected Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Divisional Head for the Party’s Sepanggar Division in 2010.

I have lost confidence in the national and state leadership of PKR and I therefore quit from being a member of this party, effective from today.

I, together with my 18 colleagues in Sepanggar division, youth and woman wings, arrived at this decision to quit PKR as we have found out that PKR is not sincere in listening to the aspirations of Sabahans. We do not think PKR has the heart to struggle for Sabah’s rights and its inherent autonomy privilege as being sought by Sabahans to be retained or restored.

Fidel Castro calls on Japanese to tell nuclear experience to world

HAVANA (Kyodo) -- Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro took part in a gathering for Japanese atomic-bomb survivors organized by the Cuban government and a Japanese NGO on Thursday in Havana and called on them to convey to the world their experiences regarding the recent nuclear crisis in Japan and the 1945 U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The 85-year-old attended the gathering for more than three hours and made the call in a speech to about 800 Japanese in the audience. It was one of the few public appearances he has made following his retirement from all public positions last April.
