Is Sabah Independence In Malaysia?

By : JOHN STEPHEN DIONYSIUS
AS we went thru our normal life, Sabah is about to celebrate Independence Day on August 31 and will be celebrating a Malaysia Day falls on September 16 and the question now where does Sabah go from here.

As a Malaysian youth in Sabah, I am very much obliged to share and would like to bring the people of Sabah back to an early days of Malaysia and ask whether Sabah is really a true Independence state in Malaysia after been 48 years since the colonization from the British.

I would like to give a scenario here:
People had asked me whether Sabah JOINED or FORMED Malaysia? I told them that there will be no Malaysia without the inclusion of Sabah and Sarawak. Does Malaysia exist on 31st August 1957? The answer is NO. Malaysia only exists on the 16th September 1963 when Sabah and Sarawak together with Malaya to form MALAYSIA.

Illegal immigrants in Sabah: A numbers game

The recent figures seem to show that the population of illegal immigrants in Sabah has not only increased, but no action has been taken to stem the tide.

Free Malaysia Today

KOTA KINABALU: Ask Sabahans if they believe the census and official figures given by the government on the number of illegal immigrants residing in the state after the recent registration exercise and they will laugh and roll their eyes.

They are not the only ones. Even illegal immigrants in the state will tell you the figures given by the Immigration Department are way off the mark.

Focus must shift to East Malaysia, says Dr Jeffrey

TUARAN: The United Borneo Front sees the Federal Government development priority as committing “gross injustice” for Sabah and Sarawak, hence it must shift its focus most of its development funds to the Borneo states as soon as possible.

In a speech at a UBF Tea Party in Kg. Telibong here last week, UBF’s Chairman, Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, pointed out what he calls the great anomaly in development allocation in the country in which the federal government collects RM15 to RM18 billion in taxes from Sabah per year, not yet including the 5 percent Sabah is supposed to get as royalty for its oil.

86 years old joke

The doctor asked him how he was feeling, and the 86-year-old said ,”Things are great and I’ve never felt better. I now have a 20 yr-old bride who is pregnant with my child.”

“So what do you think about that Doc ?”

The doctor considered his question for a minute and then began to tell a story. “I have an older friend, much like you, who is an avid hunter and never misses a season.”

I would hold the election after Raya

Yes, if I were Najib, I would hold the general election after Hari Raya. If not, then this would be the last Hari Raya with him as Prime Minister. If not, then next Hari Raya we would be visiting either Anwar or Muhyiddin Yassin at Putrajaya.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Anwar Ibrahim’s Sodomy 2 trial is going just like Sodomy 1.

Anwar’s team of lawyers are smarter than the prosecutors. They have managed to turn the trial into political grandstanding.

The issue is no longer whether Anwar did or did not commit the act of sodomy. The issue is whether the prosecution can prove that he did so. So they are fighting on technicalities. And the technicalities appear focused on the matter of fabrication of evidence.

That was what happened in the Sodomy 1 trial. And that is what is also happening in the Sodomy 2 trial.

Left to Die

By age 34, Nasir Siddiki, a successful businessman, had made his first million, but money meant nothing to him on his deathbed. Diagnosed with the worst case of shingles ever admitted to Toronto General Hospital, his immune system shut down and doctors left him to die.

The next morning I woke in a sterile room on the eighth floor of the hospital, my skin burning as though someone had doused me in gasoline and lit a match. I felt on fire from the inside out.

Sabah a training ground for new recruits

KOTA KINABALU, August 27, 2011: SAPP said the federal government should stop treating Sabah as a training ground of newly civil servants who are recruited in Peninsula as well as for promoting those officials who nearing retirement.

Its Deputy President Datuk Eric Majimbun said this is still continue to be practised by the federal government, using the excuse that the state lack of people qualified for filling the available federal posts, despite the fact that there are too many qualified Sabahans for the purpose.

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, “I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.” After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.
