It's High Time To Review The Petronas Oil Royalty Agreements!

In view of the shocking developments from inevitable results of the sudden oil price hike, I would like to raise several issues with regards to the situation in Petronas which I believe most people are NOT aware of.

This is especially pertinent in the face of several revelations, such as the fact that the oil wells in Sabah will dry up six years from now. The issue has also been raised that Petronas "could go bust in 2018", forcing us to ask:

Sabah still ‘colonised’

TAMBUNAN: State chairman of the State Reform Party (STAR), Jeffrey Kitingan, said Sabah, though freed from the colonial British in 1963, is actually “practically” still under colonisation today.

He said this can be tested with a simple political arithmetic: “We are free if we are free from colonisation or outside power. You are an independent country if you are free to plan and decide your own fiscal policies.”

Likewise, he said a country cannot consider itself independent if its own people do not have the power to elect or choose their own leaders.

KOTA KINABALU: Between the issuance of 40,000 free MyKads, the government’s refusal to hold an RCI on legalised illegals and the cabotage policy controversy, Sabah Umno and its partners in BN are between the devil and the deep blue sea, so to speak.

Will money be enough to buy off a BN victory in the 13th general election in face of simmering anger against the state and federal governments over these core issues?

That’s left to be seen, but for now it is imperative that Sabah MPs table a motion in parliament to scrap the cabotage policy which according to Dr Jeffrey Kitingan has ‘ruined’ the state economy and caused ‘unquantifiable damage’.
