Hindraf launches global e-Petition against racism

GEORGE TOWN: Hindraf Makkal Sakti has launched a global cyber e-Petition against Malaysia’s perceived racism.

The London-based Hindraf leader P Waythamoorthy said they are targeting some 100,000 people worldwide to be signatories of the petition, which would be forwarded to relevant international bodies and governments, including the US government and the European Parliament.

The Sabah Homestay community came in support of the Malaysian Association and Travel Agents (Matta) Sabah’s concerns over the MAS’ action to abandon Kota Kinabalu for the second time in recent times as its eastern hub for northeast Asia according to Rubbin Guribah, Coordinator of the Melangkap Homestay.

MAS’ action will seriously damage the Sabah homestay and tourism industry and affect the economic viability of many small and medium homestay operators.
It will reduce the number of tourist arrivals in Sabah and it will definitely hurt the Sabah tourism industry and hurt the homestay operators who rely the tourists arrivals.

“PBS, Upko, PBRS! Are you protecting Sabah’s Rights? replied Edward Linggu, Campaign Director of UBF in response to the press reports quoting Dompok, Mositun and Kurup on the launching of STAR Sabah.

Obviously, the people does not think so and rallying to support STAR Sabah as can be seen by the more than 60,000 supporters signing up in less than 3 weeks. Perhaps, PBRS may not even have the same number of committed members.

Malaysia court finds Anwar Ibrahim not guilty of sodomy

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been acquitted of sodomy after a two-year trial.

The ruling came as hundreds of Mr Anwar's supporters waited outside the court in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Anwar, 64, has consistently denied the charges and called them a government bid to cripple his political ambitions and influence.

Better to Have Good Dreams for Sabahans than Actual Nightmares under BN
