S'wak can’t step outside bounds on ties with Putrajaya

By Joe Fernandez

Malaysia Agreement or no Malaysia Agreement, Sarawak or Sabah/Labuan for that matter, cannot step outside the bounds with the Federal Government. Putrajaya belongs as much to the two Malaysian states in Borneo as to Peninsular Malaysia.

At a lower level, the Federal Government presides over the individual sultanates, states and territories in Peninsular Malaysia.

Five on-going issues, some simmering for long, have pitted the Sarawak state government in a head-long clash against the Federal Government. It’s anybody's guess how Putrajaya will bring the recalcitrant Taib Mahmud regime to heel. Surely, the Joseph Pairin Kitingan administration (1985 - 1994) in Sabah is the mother of all precedents!

Sabah villagers outraged by road to nowhere

By Luke Rintod of FMT
The current government has done poorly in terms of maintaining Sabah's roads and rural infrastructure, unlike their predecessors, Usno and PBS regimes claim villagers.
PAPAR: Outraged Dusun villagers from kampungs within the vicinity of the controversial Mini Estate Sejaterah (MESEJ) project in Kg Kinolosodon are demanding to know why the government has neglected to maintain the roads in the villages but see it fit to build a new road to nowhere.

Villagers stormed the MESEJ site a few days ago despite police guarding the access road following a police report by a landowner over logging activities in the MESEJ area, which is allegedly the site for houses for the hardcore poor families.

The villagers wanted to have a look at the ‘beautiful’ new road and at the same time check the felled logs believed to have been illegally extracted from a privately owned site nearby.

Pairin needs Najib’s ‘direct’ endorsement

By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who had been to Sabah twice this year, is coming again to this state most likely at the end of this month to help steady “paramount chief” Joseph Pairin Kitingan and his under threat Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).

Najib will travel to Tambunan and Keningau. Security protocol is already busy preparing for the “important one-day trip”, party insiders claim is at the request of the ageing and embattled Pairin, the long-serving Huguan Siou of the Kadazandusuns in Sabah.

Pairin forgets KDMs suffered much under Musa's tenure

By Peter Marajin
KOTA BELUD : The glowing tribute by PBS president, Joseph Pairin Kitingan, to current Chief Minister Musa Aman does not go down well with Sabahans at large, especially the Kadazandusun community who more often than not, marginalised by Musa's UMNO-led government. Either Pairin must have forgotten, or he is just too detached from the reality.

“PBS has lost its Direction and PBS leaders have forgotten the people”

By John Ho, PBS pioneer 1985
Mr. John Ho
Ex-Branch Chairman
Parti Bersatu Sabah
“Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has forgotten its struggle for Sabah and its leaders have forgotten the people. For the future of Sabah, we have decided to leave PBS and join STAR Sabah to answer the calls for unity by Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan and support the struggles of STAR Sabah and fight for the rights and autonomy of Sabah” announced John Ho, a pioneer of PBS, at the launching of the KOKAKOBA fellowship last Sunday, 4th March, in Kapayan, Penampang.

“Tan Sri Pairin and others were in my house on February 21, 1985 and we initiated PBS in Kapayan before PBS was officially registered. We went on to arrange for the first announcement of PBS’ registration on 06 March 1985 at a friend’s house in Tg. Aru in the presence of about 200 initial core supporters after his arrival from Kuala Lumpur that afternoon.”

Sampai hati Pairin kata begitu... kata pegawai khas Dr Jeffrey yang ada sama beliau setiap masa

Siang malam Dr Jeffrey fikirkan untung-nasib rakyat Sabah,
Pairin sanggup kata demikian? kata pembantu Jeffrey

Pairin should pay "sogit" if he uttered word "mendiang" on Jeffrey

By Fredoline Edwin Lojingki
PENAMPANG : As a veteran activist of Sabah issues, i would like to advise my old friend Joseph Pairin Kitingan, the President of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) who is also the Huguan Siou of the Kadazandusuns, to consider paying "sogit" to his younger bother Dr Jeffrey, if indeed he has uttered the word "mendiang" (the late) on his brother.

Jeffrey reply to Pairin Statement

Dr Jeffrey G. Kitingan
My brother tells only half
of the truths
I called this Press Conference in response to what my brother, Tan Sri Pairin, was quoted as having said in Keningau yesterday and which appeared in the front page of the Daily Express today.

Firstly, I need to categorically state that what was said by my brother are all lies and half-truths. Secondly, when he refer to “them” he shows his desperation to cling to power and his fear of losing power.

Thirdly, I have said it before and I say it again that this elections has nothing to do with family matters.

He is my elder brother and I have nothing against him and I love him as any brother would do but I love the people and this country more.

Pairin's silence on NCR is moral abhorance to KDMs

By Peter Marajin
KOTA KINABALU : In respond to Johnny Mositun's statement over the above issue, i would say that Joseph Pairin Kitingan just cannot hide behind the cultural nature of KDCA and use this as an excuse to remain mute in the wake of the onslaught on KDM's native customary lands.

Pairin cannot completely detach himself from this issue given his position as the Deputy Chief Minister of the very government which bent on destroying the NCR of the KDMs whose native ethnic he himself belong to.

Pairin cannot turn a blind eye on the fact that being a President of KDCA he has a moral duty to protect and safeguard the rights of his people from being unjustly treated in their very own land.

Pairin and PBS going against the wishes of Sabahans, says close friend

PENAMPANG : A local veteran activist who was active with the now-defunct UNKO, Fredoline Edwin Lojingki, said he has had enough of increasingly UMNO-leaning Joseph Pairin Kitingan and PBS lately, now lost confidence in Pairin to continue leading, especially the natives.

Lojingki, 71, who claimed to be a close friend of Pairin and many in PBS at one time, alleged that PBS has deviated from its original struggle to safeguard the state and the people especially the Kadazandusun community.

Press Statement by Mr Peter Marajin on Mositun and Pairin statements

KOTA BELUD : Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and all other BN party components from Sabah should be ashamed of themselves because they have failed to convince the UMNO-led Federal Government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on illegal immigrants and fake MyKads in Sabah.

PBS wants RCI on Illegals, only friendly request, not ultimatum

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Joseph Pairin Kitingan has called on the federal government to establish a royal commission of inquiry on illegal immigrants in Sabah next year as a sign of its commitment towards resolving the issue.

He said it was time the government took the matter seriously as requests on the issue had been made a while back.

"This is only a guideline but needs to be stressed on. Focus should be given on forming the commission to give assurance to Malaysians in Sabah.

Pairin has forsaken the KDM community

KOTA KINABALU, July 29, 2011: The Solidariti Belia Sabah (SBS) claimed that Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan has forsaken the KadazanDusunMurut (KDM) community in order to please his UMNO political masters.

It said that the act of betrayal has left the people in a state of despair and hopelessness.
