Dawn of a post-Lee Kuan Yew era in Singapore

Goh Meng Seng

I have spoken about Post-LKY era in several occasions over the last few years and I have just done that on the day Mrs. Lee Kuan Yew died, 9 September 2010. When I heard that news, it immediately struck upon me that we are walking right into Post-LKY without any adequate preparation at all.

The loss of his beloved wife at this ripe old age of 87 would have great impact on his health and well being, especially so when he has just been admitted into hospital for chest infections.

When I watch him speak at his wife’s funeral, reading his eulogy painfully with a barely audible voice and head facing down most of the time, I suddenly felt very sorry for him. The once one of the best political orators in this region, has suddenly lost his flare and magical touch. The severely wounded old lion may not roar again. I still hope that he would have a speedy recovery from both his illness and grief.

MCA now stands for Make Chinese Angry

Why MCA, after 51 years of independence your own race, is treated like second class citizen?

Why MCA, after more than 50 years of supporting the Alliance/BN, your own race appears to have to beg to get a scholarship?

Why MCA, after more than half a century being part of the ruling government, many of your own race do not see they have a future in
Malaysia?

Why MCA, despite being a partner in the BN, when a man said, 'bath the keris in Chinese blood' MCA still wants to support that man?
Why MCA, after so many years of being treated like irrelevant, MCA still cannot make the move to prove to your own race that MCA is 'alive and kicking' and still relevant?

A letter to Mr Lee Kuan Yew

Mr Lee Kuan Yew
Minister Mentor

Dear Mr Lee,

As you grieve over the loss of Mdm Kwa Geok Choo, many Singaporeans grieve with you. Everytime someone dear to us passes away, the pain is deep. Losing a loved one is the cruelest act that life can inflict on humans.
Even as you mourn the loss of Mdm Kwa, I am certain that you think of the happier moments that the both of you shared and that you, of all the people in this world, were the one to have had the pleasure of spending a lifetime with her. That, at least, is to be celebrated.

START TO GET INTO THE HABIT OF "REVERSE PARKING "

READ THIS MESSAGE AND UNDERSTAND WHY YOU MUST GET INTO THE HABIT OF REVERSE PARKING

Warning..!!!!
Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public
car park. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the
rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home,
it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend told me not to
stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the
car Then we received this email yesterday.

Country Of Origin . . . Malaysia

A beggar to another beggar: I had a grand dinner yesterday.

How? The other beggar asked.

First beggar: Someone gave me a Rm100 note yesterday.  I went to the KL Tower Revolving Restaurant and ordered wine & dinner worth Rm 1,000, and enjoyed the dinner. When the bill came, I said, I had no money. The  manager called the policeman, and handed me over to him.

I gave the Rm 100 note to the police fellow, and he set me free.   Isn't that a wonderful example of financial management?!!!

Jokes for the day: Tukang Urut= Physiotherapist

Physio was an intelligent boy. After doing a physiotherapy course abroad
for 3 years, he returned home and set up a clinic in his hometown.
He asked a designer to make a new name plate to be hung on the wall
outside the clinic. The next morning, when he went to his clinic, he
was pleased to find that the name plate was already put up. But he was
greatly annoyed by the wordings on the plate : TUKANG URUT.  He went to
the  designer and took him to task.

Batu Sapi MP killed in road mishap, paves for a testy by-election

By Ezra Haganez
JESSELTON (nka KOTA KINABALU): The Member of Parliament for Batu Sapi (in Sandakan area), Edmund Chong Ket Wah, 54, of PBS was killed in a road mishap not far from the Sutera Harbour Resort here near noon Saturday, paving for a testy by-election, the first in Sabah since the last general election March 2008.

The two-term MP who was PBS Treasurer-General, was riding a high powered motorbike heading to city centre when he collided with a Mercedez Benz which was also on the same lane at the two lane coastal road.

On impact, Chong was thrown off his bike about five metres away, severely injuring his head. Judging from photos in the newspapers, sprawled in a pool of blood, he must have lost pints of bloods at the accident spot.

Anwar waves his magic and and thrills European audiences

By Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, Vice President of DAP

BRUSSELS, Belgium: I have had to come all the way to Brussels and Berlin to discover a side of Anwar Ibrahim that I was wrong about.

Reading the Barisan Nasional-owned newspapers that consistently portrayed him as a “traitor to Malaysia” who exaggerated the situation obtaining in the country given half a chance, I have, I must admit, tended to view him as a self-serving political demagogue who could not care less about the fate of his country as long as he achieved his ambition of becoming prime minister.

It is a cheap and widely used method.
This method was used in Canny Ong murder.
