Taib’s White Lies behind the Baram Dam

By Burak S. Sem

Each year, thousands of rural families (especially the dayaks) are forcibly displaced by so call “government development projects”, whether by timber companies, dams, roads, oil palm plantations and quarries. While such projects can bring enormous benefits to society, they also impose costs, which are often borne by its poorest and most marginalized rural folks. As one famous author wrote in his book he points out, “for millions of people around the world—development has cost them their homes, their livelihoods, their health, their rights and even their very lives.” Impoverishment and disempowerment often become their lot, with particularly harsh consequences for women and children.

Stop the contradicting statements

KOTA KINABALU, September 5, 2011: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) CLC Api Api Women Chief Priscilla Chong urges Junz Wong not to issue any statement which may not be representing the stand of DAP because his statement that Malaysia is 48 years old and not 54 years old is contradicting his party Secretary General Lim Guan Eng's statement.

"Everyone knows that Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman is mistaken to talk of Merdeka 54 years. As we all know, Musa as an Umno man, must follow the Umno stand that Malaysia is 54 years old.

SAPP welcomes Anwar on "PR-SAPP can negotiate"

By Datuk Yong Teck Lee

Kota Kinabalu: 5 September 2011, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) welcomes Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim's land mark statement that Pakatan can negotiate with SAPP and SAPP need not join the Pakatan Rakyat in achieving a one to one fight against the BN. As de facto leader of PKR and PR, Anwar has re-set the button on the relationship between SAPP and Pakatan to the same positive footing that SAPP had with Pakatan in 2008.

Faith under Attack

The rising tension between Christians and Muslims in Malaysia is a cause for concern. We know for sure that the faith never professes war against other religions or believers but rather the human misinterpretation of the holy texts.

While Muslims continue to express concern (and to some extent, disgust) on the alleged proselytization of Muslims, Christians have been less vocal as details are still hazy. Would you call that wisdom or tolerance? Or have the churches relegated the responsibility to speak on behalf of the Christian community to politicians?

Unfortunately, the silence of churches and Christian community leaders has given room for political voices to speak on their behalf. This does not mean that individuals like MP Petaling Jaya Utara Tony Pua is not qualified to express his opinion but the situation have somewhat grown into a political debate among political parties. Isn’t religion supposed to be above politics? Should it be discussed on an apolitical platform or debated over mass media based on political affiliation.

Noticed even PAS is unable to take a stand on the proselytizsation issue, even after the meeting with a church committee? Didn’t anyone realized the hero of Christianity in Malaysia MP Teresa Kok has been conspicuously silent and muted since the JAIS raid on Damansara Uptown Methodist Church (DUMC) on 3 August? PAS could not issue an official stand on this and some of their members are also in the same group calling for strong government action against the alleged perpetrators who are converting Muslims to Christianity.

For all they stand for, DAP is unable to unite for Christians and all MCA ever said was JAIS was wrong. Neither one is better than the other.

So what are we dealing with here?

1.     Muslims in this country cannot accept proselytization. Before we jump to conclusion that they are dreaming up the issue, let’s ask ourselves and our friends, is there truth in the alleged cases? Do we really know if certain evangelical church has not done so? Isolated cases could still blow the situation out of proportion.

2.     When church leaders speak with other religious leaders, we see peace process. When politicians debate with politicians (and getting the press involved – TV1, Utusan, Malaysiakini and The Malaysian Insider), then religion becomes the battleground for votes!

3.     We hate government controlled media for playing up the apostasy issue, but we must also check if Malaysiakini and The Malaysian Insider are overdoing their effort to carry DAP’s Tony Pua’s view on this.

4.     Issues relating to religion in a multiracial country need to be resolved through consultation, discussion and mutual understanding among religious leaders. Politicians from both sides should be facilitators and bipartisan - NOT fueling arguments.

5.     The Christian community is very upset and angry silently, but allows politicians like Tony Pua to fuel the anger of Muslims further while churches keep quiet.

Is our faith under attack? Are we allowing it or are we just not bothered to protect our faith ourselves? Let’s not let our emotions have the best of us. At the end of the day, we are answerable to only our maker and we don’t really have to win in this debate. Neither do the other side. It’s just a matter of perception.

Politicians, please step aside. It’s time to resolve the problem, not kill religion for the sake of winning public relations brownie points!
Get the points by walking the talk and serve the community that elected you!

Stop lying about history of Malaysia's Formation- Dr. Jeffrey

By Ezra Haganez
KOTA
KINABALU: The Federal Government should stop lying about the history of Malaysia and restate correctly the facts of history to stop the confusion.

Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, the Chairman of the United Borneo Front (UBF) made this call at a Borneo Tea Party organized by Sikinor Gunu at Kg. Malangang, Kiulu, on 01 September 2011.  “This continuous lying is an affront to the founding fathers of Malaysia and a gross injustice to Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.

Bullshit!!

A turkey was chatting with a bull “I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, but I haven’t got the energy.” “Well, why don’t you nibble on my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.” The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it wont keep you there.

Memang Sah Perjanjian Malaysia ‘Batal’

Saudara Pengarang,
ATAS permintaan Ketua-Ketua Kerajaan Malaysia, Indonesia dan Filipina melalui Joint Statement di Manila pada 5 Ogos 1963, Setiausaha PBB (U Thant) telah menghantar wakil untuk meninjau sambutan rakyat North Borneo terhadap Gagasan Malaysia pada 12 Ogos 1963.

Ringkasan laporan PBB seperti berikut:
1. UNKO - tidak bersetuju;
2. PASOK - tidak bersetuju;
3. USNO - bersetuju;
4. Parti Demokratik - tidak bersetuju;
5. Parti Liberal - tidak bersetuju;

Salam Hormat,

Sit and do nothing

A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A rabbit asked him,”Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?” The crow answered: “Sure, why not.” So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested.
A fox jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.

Wikileaks: Anwar may be convicted ‘at all cost’

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim may be convicted for sodomy – his second in 10 years – based on the assessment that he is a threat to Umno’s continued rule at least until the next general election.

The leaked US diplomatic cable released by Wikileaks stated that Prime Minister Najib Razak and the Umno elites may decide that the political cost of prosecuting Anwar are “acceptable” and pursue the matter aggressively inside and outside court.

Rosmah at Altantuya murder 'implausible'

(Malaysiakini) - The presence of Rosmah Mansor, wife of premier Najib Razak, at the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder appeared “implausible”, according to a United States diplomat in a secret cable sent to Washington three years ago.

The diplomatic cable was dispatched by the United States embassy in Kuala Lumpur two weeks after controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin pledged in a statutory declaration that Rosmah was at the scene of the October 2006 murder of the Mongolian woman.

Worse than murtad is political apostasy

THE MICAH MANDATE

Political apostasy is the reason for the country’s ‘moral crisis’ in governance as reports of electoral roll anomalies and threats of violence take centre stage.

Meanwhile many letter-writers and others have said allegations of religious apostasy are a ploy to detract from the more serious problem of potential electoral fraud.

Political backsliding from the original Merdeka plan began in 1969 when Tunku Abdul Rahman was deposed in a coup, as described in Kua Kia Soong’s enlightening book, ‘May 13’.

Psalm 129

A priest offered a lift to a Nun. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said,”Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest removed his hand. But,changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest apologized “Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.” Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, “Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.”

Ramai cybertroopers, blog-blog dan media arus perdana milik Umno yang cuba menyerang Mat Sabu ata isu ini, langsung mengatakan beliau seorang “pengganas” dan “pengkhianat”, bahawa beliau menghina pejuang negara, lupa sejarah dan macam-macam lagi.

EXXONMOBIL Scandal Starring Mirzan Mahathir

Mahathir Mohamad on the one hand is using Ibrahim Ali to stoke up the Malay sentiments' anti-drinking, anti-everything for his return to power, while on the other using his son Mirzan to buy Esso Malaysia using San Miguel's beer drinking money.

By JO & M.Nathan

I am so utterly disgusted with the BN government for its inability to engage Esso Malaysia for the rakyat. I am further disgusted with the hypocrisy of Mahathir Mohamad on the one hand using Ibrahim Ali to stoke up the Malay sentiments' anti-drinking, anti-everything for his return to power, while on the other using his son Mirzan to buy Esso Malaysia using San Miguel's beer drinking money. Worse still, he is exploiting the tax incentives reserved for us the rakyat, the unimportant Malaysians.

Was the Pope in Rome a traitor?

Now that the police are investigating Mat Sabu and will probably be interrogating him soon (meaning: recording his statement) because of his so-called treasonous act, let us in the meantime read the following excerpt and decide whether the Pope in Rome was also treasonous.

“Honestly, even if it carries high risk, we will go down to Putrajaya, Parliament or the Orang Asli Development Deparment (JAKOA). This is not a threat, but our livelihood is pressed and we have no other choice.

Teliti dulu konteks ucapan Muhamad Sabu, kata Parti Sosialis

The Rakyat Must Know Of This Sewage Politics.

By Tony Pua
Based on the evidence of rampant cheating on the electoral rolls, the 13th General Election will be the dirtiest election in Malaysia's history.

The rumours have been swirling intensely for the past few months that the Barisan Nasional (BN) is registering foreign workers and permanent residents as voters for the coming general election. Various parties have given eye-witness accounts of vans from the National Registration Departments (NRD) heading to remote areas to conduct discreet registration exercises.

Is Sabah Independence In Malaysia?

By : JOHN STEPHEN DIONYSIUS
AS we went thru our normal life, Sabah is about to celebrate Independence Day on August 31 and will be celebrating a Malaysia Day falls on September 16 and the question now where does Sabah go from here.

As a Malaysian youth in Sabah, I am very much obliged to share and would like to bring the people of Sabah back to an early days of Malaysia and ask whether Sabah is really a true Independence state in Malaysia after been 48 years since the colonization from the British.

I would like to give a scenario here:
People had asked me whether Sabah JOINED or FORMED Malaysia? I told them that there will be no Malaysia without the inclusion of Sabah and Sarawak. Does Malaysia exist on 31st August 1957? The answer is NO. Malaysia only exists on the 16th September 1963 when Sabah and Sarawak together with Malaya to form MALAYSIA.

Focus must shift to East Malaysia, says Dr Jeffrey

TUARAN: The United Borneo Front sees the Federal Government development priority as committing “gross injustice” for Sabah and Sarawak, hence it must shift its focus most of its development funds to the Borneo states as soon as possible.

In a speech at a UBF Tea Party in Kg. I would hold the election after Raya

Yes, if I were Najib, I would hold the general election after Hari Raya. If not, then this would be the last Hari Raya with him as Prime Minister. If not, then next Hari Raya we would be visiting either Anwar or Muhyiddin Yassin at Putrajaya.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Anwar Ibrahim’s Sodomy 2 trial is going just like Sodomy 1.

Anwar’s team of lawyers are smarter than the prosecutors. They have managed to turn the trial into political grandstanding.

The issue is no longer whether Anwar did or did not commit the act of sodomy. The issue is whether the prosecution can prove that he did so. So they are fighting on technicalities. And the technicalities appear focused on the matter of fabrication of evidence.

That was what happened in the Sodomy 1 trial. And that is what is also happening in the Sodomy 2 trial.

Sabah a training ground for new recruits

KOTA KINABALU, August 27, 2011: SAPP said the federal government should stop treating Sabah as a training ground of newly civil servants who are recruited in Peninsula as well as for promoting those officials who nearing retirement.

Malaysia Independence House In Dilemma

By : UBF MEDIA

Dr. Jeffrey had supported the reasons put forward by the Sedomon family through Nilakrisna James, UBF co-founder and granddaughter of OKK Sedomon Bin OKK Gunsanad, who had voiced the Sedomon family’s objection to the proposed takeover of the Sedomon ancestral home in Bingkor to be converted into a Warisan Budaya by the Jabatan Muzium Sabah.

Reflections of Marina Mahathir on Christians-bashing Malaysia

Muslim leaders in Malaysia have been aping the Arabs although they don't as they do since our so-called independence.

Look at how long some of our Prime/Chief ministers have been serving and how corrupted most of them are. Look at how they repress the people of other Faiths while holding up to the world that religious freedom is enshrined in the Malaysian constitution.Look at how even now with the tsunami-changing events in the Middle East they are still so petty minded that they have to stamp the Bible, which is the holy book of Christians, with their officious, senseless "chops". How would they react if we ask the authorities to stamp the Koran to the effect that it's meant only for Muslims?

Implications of Sarawak election on Sabah

In view of the super confidence of DAP that only they can bring change to Sabah, we wish to share with the public our party analysis of the DAP performance in the April Sarawak state elections and its implications on the coming general elections. SAPP had sent five teams to lend moral support to Pakatan and to learn about the Sarawak elections.

Sarawak DAP conducted a superb campaign, tapping into the widespread unhappiness among the urban Chinese whose discontent with the Taib Mahmud government has been simmering ever since 2006 over the urban land leases renewal issue. Other than national issues, the community generally found it difficult to do business due to monopolistic policies.

Government must consult all stakeholders, especially Orang Asli, on proposed Orang Asli land titles policy

By Lim Chee Wee, President of Malaysian Bar

The Malaysian Bar is dismayed with the recent announcement by the Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli (“JAKOA”) in relation to the finalisation of the proposed Orang Asli land titles policy.  Grievances in reaction to this announcement voiced by various members of the Orang Asli community to the Malaysian Bar suggest that the Government has once again not engaged in prior consultation with Orang Asli and failed to obtain the free, prior and informed consent of affected Orang Asli in finalising the policy.  Malaysia has committed to do so in the pledges it has made in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples 2007 (“UNDRIP”).
