A response to Idris Jala (Part 1)

I read with faint amusement Idris Jala’s article which appearead in the June 24, 2013 edition of The Star newspaper. Idris Jala in his article discusses seven issues affecting Malaysia today.

Now in a few articles over the coming days, I will attempt to dissect and expose Idris Jala’s article for the rubbish that it is. I will start off now by tackling the first two issues that appear in his article.

Incidentally if you have not already read Idris Jala’s article, I strongly suggest that you do. It is a shining example of how misleading statistics can be and how politicians can literally get away with murder so long as they deny it strongly enough.

‘Ministers with fake degrees sworn in’

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP today flayed Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak for allowing two Barisan Nasional ministers with “fake degrees” to sit in on the first day of ministerial replies in parliament.

DAP leaders Ong Kiang Ming, Zairil Khir Johari and Julian Tan Kok Ping called for Najib to immediately ask for the resignation of the Human Resources minister Richard Riot, and the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Dr Ewon Ebin.

Going To School Is A Life Threatening Experience

Picture 1 shows how schools kids go to school in a part of Sarawak. They take their lives into their own hands to be educated. They have to walk the tight rope twice a day and going home in the evening is even more dangerous. We have to thank those people who brought this type of progress by forcing our countries into Malaysia! It bring tears to the eye to see such sights.

 

 

The Dangers of Legitimizing Muslim Grievances

Tell the Truth or Be Investigated - Jeffrey

Kota Kinabalu: “The Inland Revenue Board should be truthful about the tax revenues collected in Sabah rather than trying to cover up the truth just because Sabah is now claiming its constitutional share of this revenues”said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, in response to front-pages stories that only RM4 billion federal tax collectionwas targeted by the IRB from Sabah in 2013 and not RM40 billion as reported earlier.

The RM40 billion was initially announced by the IRB Sabah and they appear to be back-tracking as if to attempt a cover-up now that Sabah is entitled to two-fifths (40%) of the net revenue collected from Sabah.
