(emphasis added)

Merdeka Day-55 years of broken promises

In Malaysia many of its citizens are very confused over 2 public holidays being their Merdeka Day or independence day and Malaysia Day and also their national identity.

Malaysia Day marks the federation of 3 countries Malaya Sabah and Sarawak on 16 September 1963. The confusion has arisen over the last 49 years because each country became independent on different dates before the federation.

Today on 31 August in 1957, the Federation of Malaya gained independence from British colonial rule and at the same time this marks 55 years of unbroken hold on power by the ruling party the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO which leads the Barisan Nasional Government.

STAR: Not False Hopes if 20-Points Enforced or Complied With

STAR's Sabah Chairman, Dr Jeffrey Kitingan
“The reason advanced by Keningau Umno Youth regarding the struggle for the 20-Points is creating “false hopes” for the people especially the bumiputra communities in Sabah clearly reinforce STAR Sabah’s stand that outside parties like Umno cannot best defend Sabah’s rights” said Dr. Nicholas James Guntobon, Deputy Chairman of STAR Sabah and chief of the Interior Zone in response to the statement by Keningau Youth Chief in the papers yesterday.

Sabah Founding Forefathers Visionary

STAR: Stop Imposing and Fooling Sabah, Sarawak

"Stop misleading the people", says Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan regarding
the Independance Day and History of Sabah and Sarawak during the
launching of Star Kundasang Zon Tengah in Kg. Pinampadan, Kundasang
“Malaya (in the name of the Federal Government) should stop imposing its will on the people of Sabah and Sarawak and fooling them to celebrate Malayan independence 55 years ago and calling it Malaysian independence” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR Sabah in his launching speech at the launching of Star Kundasang Zon Tengah in Pinampadan, Kundasang on Saturday.

“How could these leaders continue to twist history to suit their political interests without consideration of our feelings and the truth?”

QUIET FURY grips Sabah & S'wak over Putrajaya’s 55-years Merdeka claim

Written by  Joe Fernandez, Malaysia Chronicle
The insensitive ignoramuses have done it again! The buntings and billboards, shipped in from Putrajaya, brazenly proclaim 55 years of Merdeka throughout the length and breadth of Sabah and Sarawak. This is the Mother of All Bullshit in Sabah and Sarawak.
Whose Merdeka?

Obviously, it’s Merdeka for Peninsular Malaysia or Malaya which became independent of British colonial rule of a sort on 31 Aug, 1957. The revisionists are claiming that the British never really colonised Malaya – the land of the Orang Asal i.e. the Orang Asli -- which they in fact hacked away from the Thai kingdom, after two wars with Bangkok, to plant rubber and mine tin. But that’s another story.

That i.e. 1957 being the case, why flaunt it in Sabah and Sarawak and expect the long-suffering people there to share in the joy of the people of Malaya in being free of colonialism and imperialism?

‘Amateurs doomed Sabah from the start’

KOTA KINABALU: Amateurs in Sabah’s political arena were the cause of the state losing its autonomous rights and privileges when it joined joined Singapore, Sarawak and Malaya to form Malaysia in 1963, local opposition politician Jeffrey Kitingan charged.

He said Sabahans are now paying the price due to poorly educated and inexperienced founding leaders having been selected to negotiate Sabah’s entry into the federation as a founding member.

Buy the election, not by-election

Dr Jeffrey is quite upset that Anwar is currently engaged in negotiations with a few Barisan Nasional leaders about the possibility of them jumping after the next general election. This would mean the opposition would have to ‘give way’ to these people and allow them to win the elections. That would be one issue. The second would be: what if after they win they change their minds and decide not to jump after all because Barisan Nasional has counter-offered a higher price?

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
The Federal Hotel in Kuala Lumpur was the first international-class hotel to be built in Malaysia -- then called the Federation of Malaya. It was, in fact, built purposely for the Merdeka (Independence) celebrations and opened for business just three days before Merdeka of 31st August 1957.

It was said that Low Yat, a rags-to-riches junk dealer turned millionaire, built the hotel at the request of the First Prime Minister of independent Malaya, Tunku Abdul Rahman. Stories were told about how Yow Yat used to cycle around Kuala Lumpur collecting old bottles, and thereafter made his millions from his humble beginnings.

MP Rahman Dahlan, a Typical Umno Stooge - Dr. Jeffrey

“Rahman Dahlan’s remarks that Sabah and Sarawak joined the Federation as the 12th and 13th States of Malaysia is a typical UMNO stand that not only reflect his lack of understanding of history on the formation of Malaysia but confirms my opinion that many of our Sabah leaders are mere stooges and proxies of Kuala Lumpur leaders.  These Sabah leaders, no longer have the heart and desires to fight for the special rights and position of Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia.” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, in response to Dahlan’s statement published in the Daily Express and Borneo Post yesterday.

One cannot simply pick up a paragraph in the proclamation which mention Sabah and Sarawak along with the States in Malaya that this makes the two independent States as simply additions to the existing States of Malaya.

STAR Sabah kesal pembentukan Malaysia dilakukan tergesa gesa oleh pemimpin terdahulu

Oleh: KULI KULI AK
Datuk Dr Jeffrey berucap ketika melancarkan Parti

The whole nation is asking this same question !!!

In the Malaysian Parliament recently, an UMNO MP during his speech told a story........

"There was a father who gave RM100/-  each to his 3 sons and asked them to buy things and fill up a room completely.

First son bought hay for RM100/-  but couldn't fill the room entirely.

We will go to international court, says STAR

KOTA BELUD : The State Reform Party (STAR) said if it forms or leads the next state government, it would consider taking matters to court, including international courts, if then Federal Government continued to trample on the 1963 pledges and the Malaysia Agreement.

Deputy chairman of the Sabah chapter of STAR, Daniel John Jambun, said it is pertinent that the next state government subscribed to the Borneo Agenda if Sabah is to be saved from further destruction by unfavourable policies by Federal power against it.

STAR supports extra seats for Sabah, Sarawak

“STAR Sabah supports additional state and parliamentary seats for Sabah and Sarawak and the need to observe the composition ratio of parliamentary seats agreed at the formation of Malaysia as well as ensure a fairer and more equitable distribution of funds for each constituency and the access to facilities and amenities by the people in both States” stated Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR Sabah in response to the opinion and suggestion of lawyer, Yunuf Maringking, on additional seats for Sabah.

Kejayaan Malaya Di Sabah Setelah Pembentukan Malaysia

S'pore won't return, but if Umno keeps on bullying, Sabah and Sarawak may leave

S'pore won't return, but if Umno keeps on bullying, Sabah and Sarawak may leaveExpelled Pas legislator Hassan Ali’s theory that Dap will eventually push for Singapore’s return to Malaysia, a scare-mongering tactic in reverse, does not hold water.

This reminds us of Singapore veteran Lee Kuan Yew warning his people not so long ago that the island may have to return to Malaysia, literally on bended knees, if it fails to make its way in the world.

There are many reasons why Singapore will not or cannot return to Malaysia but a few salient points will suffice for the moment to put the point across.

Change it must for Malaysia!

If a gov't won't change, it must be changed
Anwar Ibrahim’s Sodomy II political drama seems scripted to end with his being behind prison bars. It doesn't look good for the government and its boast of judicial and other reforms that now look incredibly superficial and hollow. Anwar won however you look at it though justice delayed is justice denied. Malaysians must be sick of the sodomy side-show and those behind the unsavory plot. Yet again UMNO’s infamous Datuk 3T want to destroy him with yet another Sodomy III.

Malaysia oh poor Malaysia !

By Ahmed Gibran Ubaidullah Song
I am no science buff but remember reading about putting frogs in cold water and then slowly putting the water to a boil. The frogs (unlike the Perak species) will die as they will be unaware of the change in temperature that will ultimately prove fatal.

Dear Malaysian brethren of whatever ilk - we will suffer the same fate as the innocent frogs if we let the country spiral to another Iran or Pakistan.

Sabahans "terrible mistake" in opting for Malaysia

There is a swelling movement in the Borneo states
that is asking for more independence and
questioning Putrajaya's intentions.
Joe Fernandez

The wind of change is sweeping throughout Sabah and Sarawak. After nearly 50 years there is a movement that is calling for total national unity in the Borneo states.

Final Warning: Malaysia may be bankrupt sooner than 2019

HORNBILL UNLEASHED
Maclean Patrick

Alarm bells should be sounding by now, yet the nation’s leaders seem to be adamant on keeping things sounding rosy and well. The Auditor-General’s Report for 2010 has shown how far down the barrel, Malaysia has gone.

It must be noted that when Malaysia was formed in 1963, the British left her with a solid administrative template. Yet, after more than 50 years of rule by Barisan Nasional, the template has not been improved on. In fact, it has gone to the dogs; replaced instead by a form of government that encourages leakages and corruption of all forms.

S’pore’s exit nullified Malaysia Agreement
