A Message To The People of Sabah

My fellow Sabahans,

With less than 48hours for Bersih Sabah 3.0 and Duduk Bantah in the historic Padang Merdeka 2804, all I can think about is our immediate future, our state - our nation of Sabah. With so much things going through everyone's mind, the opposition to Bersih 3.0, the ignorance of it's main issue & the playing up of fear into the hearts of sovereign individuals; the fact remains that everyone of us clearly still wants one common thing - fairness and equality.

TONGOD : "Please don't forget and sideline us," that is the dire reminder for the government from Pengerusi JKKK of Kampung Minusuh in Kuamut, Kinabatangan near here.

Insulting the people by denying poverty

By Daniel John Jambun
Of all the many current issues being debated in the media, Najib’s ‘assurance’ during his recent visit to Sabah that the state is no longer the poorest in Malaysia is the one that currently hitting the most sensitive nerves among Sabahans.

While the statement was supported by local BN leaders, the opposition leaders have expressed shock at the Najib’s statement. People on the ground are scornful and believe it is all a desperate political spin to give a positive impact for Najib’s visit to Sabah prior to the general election.

save himself at the ballot box.
By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who begins a two-day visit to Sabah tomorrow, has been slapped with a litany of questions involving his government’s extravagant spending and financial scandals rocking the country.

Challenging Najib to clarify the allegations and speculations of squandered billions and to ‘save’ himself at the ballot box, State Reform Party (Star) Sabah deputy chairman Daniel Jambun said Najib must clear the perceptions that Umno has “no clear conscious” and prove that he is committed to stopping the rot on Sabah coffers.

Jinu bin Losukin @Raju Homeless, odd-jobs worker, 39, Kuala Lumpur

In our February State of the Vision Issue, we asked the man on the street, from all walks of life, what they feel about the state of our country. Renowned journalist and documentarian Danny Lim travelled across Malaysia to speak to friends, strangers and demographics we would normally never sit and have a chat with. We present two extremes from this piece: Raju, a homeless man living in KL, and Dr Vincent Chian, an educator who is working to improve schools in Malaysia.

EPISODE 1: How East Malaysia and Terengganu were robbed of their wealth

In 1973, Barisan Nasional was launched and PAS became part of the federal government. In 1974, the new ruling coalition in Parliament (where all the opposition parties except DAP were now members of) passed the Petroleum Development Act and the oil and gas were transferred from the states to the federal government, meaning Petronas.

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Give or take, give and take, they are both four letter words, just as Umno is (pun intended). Nevertheless, we can expect Umno to be confused about when to use the word ‘give’ and when to use ‘take’. However, Pakatan Rakyat too?

As Julius Caesar said, “Et tu Brute?”
