A staggering 4,000 Sabahans braved the rain to
witness the launch of a new political vehicle,
the Sabah chapter of Star.

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah chapter of Star was launched here today with the announcement that it has managed to gain 60,000 new members in just three weeks.

A crowd of about 4,000 mostly men, received the announcement at an almost packed Hongkod Koisaan Hall in Penampang near here, with a burst of applause.

All ardent supporters of maverick politician Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, they greeted the news as confirmation that their hero would once again be catapulted to new political heights in the up-coming general election.

Let’s not idolise political leaders, Anwar included

By Francis Paul Siah

In recent months, I’ve written at length on politics and political leadership in the country. I feel compelled to touch on the same subject again this week ahead of the Jan 9 Sodomy II court decision involving Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Previously, I’ve also stressed that we, Malaysians, should wise up and stop hero-worshipping political leaders. Why! I feel that there are no politicians in the country today worthy of such servile flattery. No, there are no Mahatma Gandhi(s) or Nelson Mandela(s) here. I wish to repeat that again.

Will Jeffrey Kitingan quit Star party if his other
option Parti Cinta Sabah gets a late approval in
time for the 13th general election?
KOTA KINABALU: If Sabah’s turbulent political history is an indication, then today could go down as yet another day when a dramatic event set Sabah on a new course.

This one takes place at the main hall of the famous Hongkod Koisaan, the headquarters of the influential Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA), when maverick politician Jeffrey Kitingan jointly launches a new party – the Sabah chapter of the Sarawak Reform Party (Star) – in the state to push for political and social reform.

Kitingan is the chairman of the Sabah chapter and according to the organising chairman of the launch, Awang Ahmad Shah, Sabah Star will be ‘fully autonomous”.

UBF: Political Ploy By Sabah BN On RCI To Garner Votes Only

By Edward Linggu

“Sabahans and patriotic Sabahan leaders need to understand the ploy of Sabah BN led by UMNO, PBS and UPKO on the recent announcement by UMNO Sabah that UMNO Sabah has no objections to the setting up of the RCI on illegal immigrants issue. The play-acting continued with UPKO and PBS rushing to “angkat” their political bosses by heaping praise on UMNO’s statement of no objections” said Edward Linggu, Campaign Director of UBF.

While it is to be complimented the statement that UMNO Sabah has no objections to the RCI, it has to seen in the light of growing ground-swell amongst the people in Sabah in support of the RCI including many Muslim NGOs in recent times as well as the backlash against UMNO and Sabah BN in the forthcoming general elections due anytime soon.

Business Is Business

One day at kindergarten a Teacher said to the class of 5-year-olds,
"I'll give $10 to the child who can tell me who was the most famous man who ever lived."
A little Irish boy put his hand up and said,
"It was St. Patrick."
