Haramkan DPPIMS Untuk Jayakan RCI!

Umno hand in ‘new’ illegal settlement?

By Luke Rintod of FMT
KENINGAU: An open recreational area meant for residents in a low-cost housing project here has “magically” turned into a settlement overnight for about 1,000 illegal Filipinos and Indonesian immigrants.

To make matters worse, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) poles were allegedly put up at night to “supply” power to this illegal settlement, when thousands of other poor Sabah native kampungs are still living by kerosene lamps.

He said amongst other things; could lead to misunderstanding and disunity among the various ethnic groups; RCI was made with ‘bad and evil intention’ aimed at inciting the people of Sabah to hate the BN Federal Government

He also said that there was no such thing as Project IC to issue Malaysian ICs to foreigners He warned that if the RCI promoters continue to push for it, it may one day backfire on them.

Polls panel recommends RCI for Project IC, now ball in govt's court

By Nigel Aw
The parliamentary select committee (PSC) on electoral reform in its interim report today proposed the formation of a royal commission of inquiry to investigate claims that foreigners were granted citizenship and the right to vote in Sabah.

In its report, it stated that the recommendation was made following numerous complaints on Project IC during its public hearing in Kota Kinabalu last week.

"Even though this matter is wide and outside the terms of reference of this committee, but the committee recommends the formation of a royal commission of inquiry as a long-term solution," the report reads.

PBS wants RCI on Illegals, only friendly request, not ultimatum

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Joseph Pairin Kitingan has called on the federal government to establish a royal commission of inquiry on illegal immigrants in Sabah next year as a sign of its commitment towards resolving the issue.

He said it was time the government took the matter seriously as requests on the issue had been made a while back.

"This is only a guideline but needs to be stressed on. Focus should be given on forming the commission to give assurance to Malaysians in Sabah.

PBS Mula Buka Mulut Mengenai Suruhanjaya Siasatan Diraja

EC chief: See no Evil, Hear no Evil

By Aidila Razak
INTERVIEW Claims about the systematic granting of Malaysian citizenship to thousands of illegal immigrants in Sabah in the 1990s is the stuff of legends.

And like all good legends, evidence of such a happening may seem aplenty, but there is nothing to irrefutably prove that it had occurred.

At least, that is what former Election Commission chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman believes of the dubious operation popularly dubbed Project IC or Project M.

Citizenship applicants told to ‘vote for ruling party’

Pemerhati: Former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad and children – Mukhriz, Marina, etc – according to tradition, where the children take on the ethnicity of their father, are also Indians because his father was the son of an Indian from Kerala.

The Malaysian constitution also allows people like Mahathir, who are Muslims, who speak Malay and follow Malay customs, to call themselves Malays.
